B. Sc. in Forestry

KAFCOL offers a four-year B. Sc. Course in Forestry Science in affiliation with Tribhuvan University (TU). The course is designed to engage interest of students from the start and help them find the career they want.  This course is relevant for individuals concerned with global environmental issues and their   environment-   friendly   and   sustainable solutions. Combination of practical and academic elements will enhance employment prospects in a broad range of careers, including Forestry, Soil Conservation and Watershed Management, Wildlife Management, Biodiversity, and Environment.

Major subject areas

Forest Management and Mensuration; Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation; Integrated Watershed Management; Community Forestry; Agroforestry; Silviculture; Eco-tourism and Recreation; Geographic Information System (GIS); and Research Methodology are some of the main subject areas covered.

Study tours

Study tours, exposure visits and excursions are integral components of the course.  Study tours within Nepal and India organized in coordination with concerned local authorities.

The College enrolls 50 students in each batch.

Eligibility

Candidates with I.Sc./Diploma in Forestry and General Science, or 10+ 2 in Science with minimum aggregate percent marks fixed by IOF are eligible to appear in entrance exam administered by the Dean’s Office, Institute of Forestry (IOF), TU.

Admission

Interested candidates can apply online through the IOF website. Students who have passed the entrance exam are eligible for admission in this program.  Admissions are strictly merit-based.

Tuition fee

The fees are liable to changes time to time. For details of the total fee (four year course) see the attached leaflet or contact college by phone/ email. Students can make one time full payment of the capitation fee at enrolment or partial payment in installments at the beginning of each semester. Maximum five students nominated by the Government of Nepal in each batch get full scholarships. College also provides some scholarships to deserving students under different categories.
